MOTHER STUDIO
Year: 2019
Location: Architectural Association.
Bedford Square, London. UK.
The purpose of this pavillion is to bring together the urban and school community in a pavillion that allows a meeting point for conversation.
The design intention of this fluid shape pavillion is to grow from the ground as a shelter and sitting area for the pedestrian user. The panelization of mycelenium composite panels assembled together with a timber frame structure becomes the material construction strategy for this pavillion in front of Bedford Square.
The concept of a fluid blossom between program, material and design starts to evolve and manifests itself from installation day as the composite material becomes alive. In this way producing a organic transformation with time.
